This is difficult times financially for many and after loosing jobs getting frustrated and taking on anything that promises good salary is a temptation.
But, come to think not all that glitters is gold...this article below will be an eye opener.
Beware money mule scams

Income seekers are being targeted with ‘too good to be true' money-making opportunities and fake jobs that could see them tricked into laundering money for criminals.
The Serious Organised Crime Agency (SOCA) says it has serious concerns that people using the internet to find paid employment could fall victim to these sophisticated scams, and unknowingly end up as money mules laundering money made through illegal activity.

Adverts for fake jobs are springing up all over the web, even on legitimate channels such as mainstream recruitment websites, according to GetSafeOnline.org, the UK's national internet security initiative.
The aim of these ads is to mislead people into thinking they have a genuine job that will offer substantial earnings for relatively little work. In fact, people who fall for these offers could up being tagged as criminals, having their bank accounts frozen and the laundered funds recovered from their personal accounts money.
Job titles to watch out for include ‘financial manager', ‘money transfer agent', ‘shipping manager' or even ‘mystery shopper'.
100 gangs
It is estimated that there are around 100 known mule recruitment sites targeting UK surfers, each of which may have around 50 ‘money mules'.
Some criminal gangs are also targeting new victims by sending out unsolicited emails with job offers.
“Criminals are reliant on mule operations to receive and forward money taken from online banking fraud - some money mules know exactly what they are doing, however, many end up unwittingly laundering profits for overseas criminals as a result of being taken in by fake recruitment sites,” warns Sharon Lemon, deputy director of e-Crime at SOCA.
Around a third of people looking for jobs online use legitimate, mainstream employment websites. However, with these being increasingly hijacked by scammers, there are concerns that many innocent people could fall foul – and end up criminals themselves.
Tony Neate, managing director of GetSafeOnline.org, says: “Fraudsters go to great lengths to convince potential mules that they are applying for a genuine job - some even issue official-looking ‘employment contracts' for their ‘employees' to sign.”
He adds: “With many people looking for ways to earn money during a recession, it's critical that people learn to spot the warning signs to avoid becoming a victim.”
How to spot a scam

* If you think you may be a victim of one of these scams, contact your bank immediately.

1. Record and replay the tape: Now, I don't mean that you have to record yourself on a recorder. You do need to write down on paper (and track) your victories. We all have a lot of victories daily, weekly, and monthly. We just have a hard time remembering them. If we record them, we can review them during the challenges we are facing. When we lose our self-confidence, we can build it through reviewing our past victories. A lot of our victories, we will find, come out of a very challenging problem or struggle we are having. This review will also show us the direct correlation between the challenges we face and the victories we have. The key is to review them regularly. Review them, so you can invest them to pay dividends today, and tomorrow.
2. Understand the game you are playing: The highest peak performers understand the game they are playing- how to score and win. When I was younger, I played racquetball professionally. I always had a philosophy that if I finished second, it was the same as losing. I could have won all the other matches to the final, but losing the final was as bad as losing in the first round. For me, there was no second place. Business is the same way. Have you ever gotten paid for coming in second? Second place does not make the mortgage payment. Make sure you are playing to win. Understand the reality of the business that you are in. Develop the focus that you need to compete at the highest level.
3. The secret edge: Believe in yourself. The best of the best in life believe in themselves. Michael Jordan believed to his core that he was the best. His belief, and his sheer will to win, created the best basketball player ever. I read an article about a survey in which professional golfers were asked, "If you had one putt to win a major championship, who would you pick to putt it?" Almost all of them chose Jack Nickalaus. Why, because he knew he was the best and had the ability to will the ball into the hole. When I sold real estate, I truly believed I was the best Agent for the job. That belief extended beyond just my market place. The question is what do you believe? When your confidence goes up, your competence goes up at the same time. Program your mind, through affirmations, that you are the best. Say aloud daily: "I am a great business person", "I am the best that someone can hire to do the job", "I provide exceptional service to my clients." You must drive your belief deep. It truly is the secret weapon for all peak performers.
We must invest time daily to develop the winning mindset. Take the time to record your victories. Review them daily, weekly, and monthly. Work to improve your belief in yourself. We all came from the same creator. He didn't create any junk. You have it inside you to be exceptional. The secret edge is belief.
Norman Vincent Peale said, "Believe in yourself! Have faith in your abilities. Without a humble but reasonable confidence in your own powers, you cannot be successful or happy. Formulate and stamp indelibly on your mind . . . a mental picture of yourself succeeding. Hold the picture tenaciously; never permit it to fade. Your mind will seek to develop the picture."

Four major currency pairs are usually used for investment purposes. They are: Euro against US dollar (EUR/USD), US dollar against Japanese yen (USD/JPY), British pound against US dollar (GBP/USD) and US dollar against Swiss franc (USD/CHF).
If you think one currency will appreciate against another, you may exchange that second currency for the first one and be able to �stay� in it. If everything goes as you plan it, eventually you may be able to make the opposite deal in that you may exchange this first currency back for that other and then collect profits from it. As a note bear in mind that no dividends are paid on currencies.
Transactions on the FOREX market are performed by dealers at major banks or FOREX brokerage companies. Money Ideas for Grassroots organisation
Can GrassRoots organisations make money Recycling?
I live in Thailand currently and I have visited many plastic recycling companies. This is huge business but like any other business you need to have money to invest and money to keep it going for heavy machinery that is required.
But come to think of it, let's take my country Kenya, I read every now and then about the garbage problems there. I want to imagine that a grassroot organisation can do collecting and sorting of garbage and sell these scrap to recycling companies and make money. I really want to believe it is possible to do it.
I run a blog on Recycling: Reduce, reuse and recycle you can visit it here just to get some small ideas of this market.
And like I said I know most grassroot organisations have internet access and can take time to do some research for this idea but incase your grassroot is interested and you have limited time you can always email me I will do the research for you and mail them to you.
Collecting garbage, sorting it out and selling to recyclers not even in your country but even abroad. There are websites dealing with selling of scrap wastes and gold mines for something like this.
Think about it as usual mail me for help especially research into more info and also send us your ideas to help these communities.

To create a seller's account, you need to verify your identity and select how you will pay your seller fees. To verify your identity, you can either provide credit card information or verify your identity by phone. The first idea that comes into my mind is tourism: Rural tourism.
Many tourists are looking for authentic tours. What better way than team up with local travel agents and design packages for tourists who are interested in seeing the real life in a village and benefit the community engaging the people and your grassroot to bring about change, create money and move on to other bigger projects.
Key is need to work together, share ideas, avoid greed. Point is wanting something good for you and others and making your community a better place for all.
As many grassroot villages have already some kind of websites promote your initiatives, get more information from international volunteers who have ideas to share with you on the subject of your plan

Through your free blog you can have experts from all over the globe help you but those expert they need to know your project and this is where your community blog comes in handy.
I'm familiar with blogger so this is how we go about it. In the next few days will try to find volunteer who has inside information on how to open with word press and others.
To start blogging with blogger (blogspot), It is absolutely free and you can even monetise it with ads either from google or from other sources.

Thinking I will never have pension in my life...Pension Millionaires

I love to read the Chicago Sun-Times when I can. I went to visit like I do sometime and I found this calling juicy topic on Pension.
I read the article then went to see Photos of "Pension millionaires Search" and I thought Jesus to myself, and the reality came down to me I have a degree in Agricultural education and extension 8 years ago no work experience, I can speak and write Italian,English and Swahili. I have travelled to many countries, I have good knowledge of computers and full time blogger, wife, Mom and currently in Bangkok wow..then I realised that forget about Pension Millionaires I will not even have a bank account if the current trend of finance on my side goes on.
Any of the Pension Millionaires who would like to loan a business idea of mine just let me know.

A series of free events designed to offer immediate support to creative businesses in Brighton & Hove were announced today. Topics covered will include Fundraising, Marketing and Diversification of products and services.

PRLog (Press Release) – Aug 13, 2009 – Three interactive sessions will run on 9th and 23rd September and 7th October at The Basement on Kensington Street as part of the ‘Business Lifebelt’* package that has been running since March to help businesses in the city get through the recession.
To ensure the events meet the needs of this sector they have been developed in partnership with Creative Brighton, the South Coast Design Forum, Brighton University and the University of Sussex.
The three events aim to provide valuable advice and knowledge from industry specialists and will promote and facilitate peer-to-peer support and networking.
The events are open to all individuals and businesses within arts, music, theatre, entertainment and performance, design, film, literature, venues and more.

For the last few topics I have been talking about these ads cropping out everywhere in major websites promising you to make money posting links on google.
